Don’t we stress the fact that we VERIFY ID enough? I mean we say we’ll check on the homepage, we say we’ll check on the registration page itself, every article about eligon.ca in the press mentions the fact that we check ID. What makes people ignore all those?

I can only think of two reasons:

a.       People just click “Apply” before reading “A few things you must know first”
b.      People think that we won’t catch them

We are forced to reject more than 30% of the applications because they contain inaccurate or intentionally misleading details, most common one is Age. It’s unpleasant to have to reject that many applications, but then again I can’t even imagine the amount of fake profiles on anonymous websites where no one checks. No wonder fake online dating profiles became a cliché and a repeated joke for Hollywood comedies
